BACK TO SCHOOL FOR YOU!!
Hard to believe but summer is flying by, the most successful PDBA Mayflower Cup Golf
Tournament ever is in the rearview mirror and it’s already time to start looking forward to our
first meeting of the new PDBA/Academic year!! Once again, the PDBA is pleased to announce that we will be returning to Vitamin Sea on the Plymouth waterfront for our end of summer meeting on Wednesday August 26. Our friends at Vitamin Sea have once again put together a delicious smorgasbord of gourmet deli sandwiches, together with all the accoutrements. The weather will be fantastic (we promise) and we can look forward to a premium level event that will most likely extend to the exclusive patio overlooking scenic Plymouth waterfront. As usual, our festivities will commence with our famously raucous (or is it raucously famous??) social hour at 5:30(ish) featuring a cash bar, followed by an unparalleled gustatory bonanza buffet at 6:30(ish) featuring the aforementioned gourmet deli sandwich smorgasbord. Based on last year’s turnout we expect this to be a high demand event so make your reservations early!! The cost for all of the collegiality and camaraderie you can shake a stick at is a measly $40pp. You can save your spot at our table by responding to this email or to marshalljohnsonesq@gmail.com You can also call/text the Resident Curmudgeon at 508-317-4002. PS we take Venmo!! GUEST SPEAKER: High level, secret squirrel negotiations are currently underway between envoys from the PDBA/AOBA and representatives of one of the most august, esteemed and illustrious potential speakers in recent PDBA history!! Securing this renowned but reclusive celebrity as the speaker for our meeting will not only be a feather in our cap, but the bee in our bonnet and the cream in our cheese!! So stay tuned for breaking news!!

FORE!!
As we were saying, this year’s Mayflower Cup Golf Tournament, benefitting the Thomas P.
Kramer Scholarship Fund, was the most successful ever!! We filled up the course with 18 teams who enjoyed a championship-caliber round of golf under “Chamber of Commerce” weather!! Players enjoyed a gourmet post golf lunch and showed their generosity by bidding on a fabulous selection of raffle prizes and silent auction items. Congratulations to all of our players!! Thanks to the generosity of our players, guests and friends the PDBA was able to generate sufficient revenue to fully fund our scholarship commitments for 2026 and 2027, with a great headstart toward 2028. Kudos to all who helped put together this signature event, especially to ad hoc golf committee leader Mary Kate Geary!! So mark your calendars for June 23, 2027 when the PDBA will return to Indian Pond CC with an even better Mayflower Cup!!
SAVE THE DATES:
In the interest of keeping our meetings both fun and AFFORDABLE, the PDBA has elected to modify its schedule of upcoming meetings. Therefore, please note the following dates in your pocket diaries and Google calendars, as well as on your sundials, Stonehenge models and cell walls:
October 28 Elections
December 16 Christmas
February 24 Quan’s Kitchen
April 28 TBD
June 23 Golf Tournament
TEDDY BEARS:
As all of our members, friends and followers know, the PDBA has been operating Project Teddy Bear for many years This heartwarming project provides customized teddy bears to the Probate Court and to the Juvenile Court to be given to adoptive children and their families. The PDBA has donated more than 3,000 teddy bears to the Courts since its inception nearly 20 years ago, and we look forward to continuing this fantastic program for many years to come. In the interest of keeping the costs of this worthwhile project affordable, the PDBA is encouraging our members, guests and friends to consider making a donation to our Teddy Bear fund. Every $15 dollars donated buys an unforgettable moment of joy for an adopted child and his or her family. So look for the Teddy Bear donation station at all upcoming meetings and please help us keep Project Teddy Bear going!! You can also donate by contacting your officers and directors or by calling/texting the Resident Grizzly at 508-317-4002. As always, we take Venmo!!
CANCELLATION POLICY:
The PDBA offers the kind of community, camaraderie and collegiality that other bar associations only talk about. However, we can only keep these unique membership benefits high and our membership costs low by maintaining a slim financial margin of error. Therefore, if the vicissitudes of life intervene and you must cancel your meeting reservation less than 48 hours beforehand, the PDBA reserves the right to request that you dust off your spare change purses and shake the cobwebs out of your wallets and bring yourselves flush with the most rewarding and exciting bar association this side of SCOTUS and that side of the Old Bailey!!
Best luke warmest regards
PDBA/AOBA
