OCTOBER MEETING
The PDBA is pleased as punch to announce that our ‘Halloween Ho-down” meeting will take
place on Wednesday October 29 at Cask n Flagon, 804 Plain St. Marshfield (781-834-2275). Our old friends at the Cask will be providing their usual gustatory bonanza in the form of a BBQ buffet, including coffee/tea/sweets to wrap up an already incredible evening. And as if the food, atmosphere, and camaraderie of the PDBA were not enough, AOBA will also be featuring a topical and informative presentation by one of our own long-time members and supporters (see details below). The bargain basement cost for this relaxing, end-of summer, can’t miss event is a measly $45 per person!! As always, the PDBA/AOBA accepts payment in cash, checks and Venmo (sorry, no Bitcoin).
GUEST SPEAKER
The PDBA is honored to announce that the special guest speaker for our October meeting will be our very own long-time supporter and actual dues-paying member, Eric Carnevale. Eric is an Assistant Attorney General in the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Eric recently wrote the newly-enacted “Junk Fee Regulations.” He will give a presentation telling us everything we need to use about using chapter 93A (both criminally and civilly) to fight unfair, deceptive and fraudulent business practices. You can reserve a spot at our October gathering by email at plymouthdistrictbar@yahoo.com . or marshalljohnsonesq@gmail.com . You can also call our very own Dungeon Master at 508-317-4002.
HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
As if lawyers are not scary enough already, the PDBA/AOBA is offering each of the attendees at the October meeting the opportunity to save a whopping $5 off the cost of our already bargain- basement meal price. All that is required is for you to further humiliate yourself by arriving in a Halloween-appropriate costume, which the Officers and Directors in attendance will arbitrarily and capriciously judge. The single winner will be able to cash in the $5 grand prize!! This will be so much fun, it's freaky!!
TEDDY BEARS
Since its inception more than 15 years ago, the PDBA Teddy Bear program has donated
customized teddy bears to the Plymouth Probate and Family Court and the Plymouth Juvenile Court to be given to adoptive parents and their kids. Over the years we have donated more than 2,000 teddy bears to these loving families and they are always a hit!! The PDBA looks forward to continuing this uniquely rewarding endeavor and we are looking for our members, friends and guests to help us to defray the cost. Anyone wishing to help support the cause may do so by making a voluntary add-on to their meal payments ($5, 10, whatever).
If you can’t make a meeting, you can just forward a donation directly to
PDBA, P.O. Box 3022, Plymouth, MA 02361.
You can also pay by Venmo. This is a fantastically worthwhile program and the PDBA
hopes everyone will help us to keep it going!!
